Ilya: Hi Guys. Good Kite photos. Probably going to make an idiot of myself here, but why aren't the 1st lot of the bird with a mangled tail, just of a Red Kite? Surely Black-eared (and Black), should have a dark mask around the eye??
Sean: You are welcome John!
John Furse: Thank you, Sean, for finding, identifying and advertising the bird so quickly. To be able to get it to fly towards us- singing ! – and land quite close in front, is awesome site management. An even better experience than the Anglesey bird.
John Furse: Sheringham
Peter: Thanks Colin -anymore detailed directions for the frogspawn?
Sean: Go Colin!
Colin:: This is my second attempt - maybe this is beyond me. No bird news but I did spot some frogspawn in the garden pond.
Sean: Apparently on his weather station pole in his garden...
Terry: I see Les has seen a Little Owl - good one! Was it during a blizzard on a sea-watch or are there site details? Nice one, Les!
Sean: Hello Tim - thanks for dropping by. I certainly hope there will be plenty more birds to see this year. With you around it can only increase the odds. We should start an intra parish rivalry. What's your yearlist for Sea Palling so far?
Tim A.: Hi Sean, aPalling Tim here. Bad luck on the Bluethroat. At least there'll be plenty more quality birds this year.
Sean: By the way, is this Tim below our own Mr Hemmings or the young man from that appalling place north of here?
Sean: Of course the Bluethroat was not in the parish so won't be on anyone's yearlists. So it doesn't matter that I was on a family holiday on Scilly seeing f all...What a difference 100m makes...
Terry: Congratulations Peter! Great find...
Tim: Hi Terry, Peter Cawley, in the ditch along low road/path behind church allotments. Hope you're having a good spring so far over there...
Terry: Who found the Bluethroat and where was it??
Tim: I see Peter was out today at least - nice 'throat and good to meet Ted as well.
Tim: Any of you boys gona get some birding done?
Sean: By the way, well done on Peregrine Terry. We've removed all the Yellowhammers for a captive breeding programme, as we were getting worried that the gene pool was too small (ours, not theirs).
Terry: 51 species today with the highlight being a Chiffchaff near the concrete blocks. Dipped on Yellowhammer, though... come on, where are you hiding them?
